After a nice descent, the path ends at an asphalt road where with a bit of luck, Flamingos can be spotted in the lake on the left. The route continues with a nice single trail, characterized by twists and turns with some elevation. After this, the route will continue on gravel roads with a tough climb up here and there, followed by nice descents through Bonaire’s beautiful inland off-road roads.
Distance: 40 kilometers, elevation: 473, level: intermediate/advanced
A very nice mountain bike route characterized by three challenging climbs. Between the climbs, there is plenty of time to recover and, above all, enjoy! The route is easily accessible by bike from Kralendijk and starts in the Republiek district. After 5 kilometers, there is a tough climb of about 2.5 kilometers to the highest point of this route (125 meters above sea level). The climb starts on an asphalt road, later turning into an off-road road. After this climb, a beautiful descent awaits you. After the descent, you can rest on an asphalt road before the next climb on gravel roads is already waiting for you. When you reach the top, you are also halfway on the route! After the descent, you drive towards the east coast, where you go parallel on an off-road path along the ocean. Eventually, you turn off towards the asphalt road that leads you to one of the steepest asphalt climbs on Bonaire.
